From the minute she stepped out last Wednesday looking stunning in a long gown with a velvet bodice and black skirt, Velasquez had the crowd in the palm of her hand.

Narito Ako is one of the most popular ring tones among Filipino mobile users, so it came as no surprise that the whole stadium broke into melodic song with the star as she began the concert with her signature tune.

As the night wore on, it became clear that Velasquez is indeed the Philippine counterpart of Barbara Streisand, as she belted out one classic after another, including crowd favourites such as Sana Maulit Muli, Dadalhin Kita Sa Aking Palasyo and Ikaw, a love song that brought many couples in the stands to tears.

The crowd thought it was all over when she left the stage at one point, but the diva soon reappeared in a stunning new outfit to sing a medley of fast tracks, including Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive and Donna Summer's Last Dance.

Alas, all good things come to an end, and so it was with Velasquez's concert. As a fitting tribute to a highly successful evening, she sang Aerosmith's I Don't Want to Miss a Thing leaving her fans clamouring for more.
